Footer Dye Works Funding Likely with Assembly Winding Down

With time running out in the 2015 session of the Maryland General Assembly, it is looking more and more likely that funding for the Footer Dye Works project will be secured. A total of $1.2 million has been requested for what Canal Place officials describe as critical infrastructure improvements needed for the aging building. Michael Joy, a private developer, has committed to move forward with a commercial development project if those state capital dollars can be obtained. Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim tells WCBC News that if those repairs are made, it will open the door for tremendous economic development opportunities for the city…
