Footer Dye Works Once Again Topic of Discussion at Meetings

Earlier this month, the governor’s office announced that the Footer Dye Works project has been granted a $2 million tax credit to assist with the mixed-use redevelopment of the building, estimated to cost $8 million. The project is described as “the conversion of an industrial factory to commercial restaurant and apartment use.” The development of the historic Footer Dye building is spearheaded by the Joy Development Co. of Washington, D.C.  The subject was the only item of real discussion during Tuesday’s final meeting of 2014 for the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority.  Board member Doug Reed said that the project securing state funding, bodes well for the effort to obtain federal grants…
