August 5th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

At the scheduled Board of Public Works meeting held this morning in Annapolis, with Governor Hogan and Comptroller Franchot in attendance, Canal Place Authority was enthusiastically given the approval to begin the renovation for the Footer’s Dye Works building.  Footer Building Development, LLC will begin the undertaking to renovate the historic building into a mixed use building, containing a restaurant and brew pub on the first floor with offices and apartments on the upper floors.  The renovation is expected to cost approximately 7 million dollars which will be funded from the developer, and an additional $1.15 million that will come from the state of Maryland. The project is expected to be completed by December 2016.

Governor Hogan commented that the area “needs economic development” and he is “happy to see it coming to fruition.” Comptroller Franchot gave Mr. Michael Joy of Footer Building Development a coveted Comptrollers Medallion “for doing great things for the state”.
