Kim Shirer, who was heavily involved in Allegany County tourism for a decade as Director of Tourism Programs, passed away last night after a brave battle with cancer.
Shirer was deeply involved in a number of visitor initiatives, including the annual PACE Reception, and was awarded the Economic Engine Award from the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development in 2012.
