Former Band Parent Found Guilty Of Theft Scheme

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced on Wednesday, May 29th, 2013, that Carol Myers entered a guilty plea to Theft Scheme greater than $1000 but less than $10,000.  Ms. Myers was then sentenced to 5 years in the Department of Corrections and placed on 5 years of supervised probation.  The sentence to the Department of Corrections was then suspended.  As a condition of probation, Ms. Myers was ordered to pay $14, 403.45 to the Mountain Ridge Band Parents Association and to have no contact with the Association or Mountain Ridge High School.  This case arises out of an incident involving sales from concessions used to support the Mountain Ridge Band.  The guilty plea and sentencing were held before the Honorable Judge Donald E. Beachley in the Circuit Court of Allegany County; Judge Beachley is a visiting Judge from Washington County.  The case was prosecuted by Fred Voss, Deputy State’s Attorney.   Ms. Myers was represented by David M. Schram from the Office of the Public Defender.

    Thats ashame, they should have gave her atleast a year in the funhouse, These people will never learn.
