On Friday afternoon at approximately 3:02pm the Cumberland Police Department responded to the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and Lamont Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Wallace Bruce Keller, 75, was attempting to cross Industrial Boulevard from Lamont Street when he travelled into the path of a vehicle driven by Linda Sue Hoover, 50, of Windber, Pennsylvania. Both subjects to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by ambulance. Keller later died from injuries sustained in the accident. Keller was a retired City Police sergeant. The accident is still under investigation.
