Former Union Rescue Mission director passes

A longtime staple of the local community has passed away. Reverend Dan Taylor, the former director of the Union Rescue Mission in Cumberland, passed away this week at UPMC-Western Maryland. A career military man, Taylor moved to Cumberland and served three decades as assistant director and ultimately director of the Rescue Mission. As a result of the the coronavirus situation, a private celebration of his life and a momeorial service will be held later this summer. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Taylor was 70
