Fort Hill Football Team Recognized By County Commissioners And BoE For Championship Win

Last month the Fort Hill Sentinels scored an easy victory over Havre de Grace to win yet another state football championship trophy. The victory not only tied the state record for consecutive state championships, it tied the record for consecutive playoff wins (16), and broke the record for consecutive 1A championships. Fort Hill finished 14-0 and will take a 25-game winning streak into next year. They are 54-1 during their four-year title streak. In January the team has been recognized by both the Allegany County Commissioners and the Board of Education for the achievement. Head coach Todd Appel said while it’s true the players being honored are outstanding football players- they are much  more than that….
