Four Vehicle Accident Shuts Down US 220 At Rawlings.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 06:30 AM, Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Route 220 in front of the Rawling’s post office for a motor vehicle collision involving five vehicles.

Upon arrival, Deputies observed several of the vehicles disabled in the roadway. It was determined that Brandon Kausky, age 24 of Keyser, West Virginia had fallen asleep behind the wheel and crossed the center line, striking other vehicles and causing a chain reaction. Route 220 was shut down for approximately 1 hour for Emergency crew to investigate and safely clean up the scene. No injuries occurred during the crash. However 4 of the vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be towed.

The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rawlings and Cresaptown Fire

Departments as a well as Cresaptown EMS and The Maryland State Highway Administration.

Investigation is continuing and Charges are pending
