Franchot Facing Criticism For Comments On Tax Cuts

Suggestions by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot last week that the state cannot afford to implement tax cuts have been met with some strong criticisms. Franchot, following Wednesday’s Board of Revenue Estimates meeting said that although the estimates are steady and show an improvement over the past year, tax cuts this year would be "unrealistic," given that tax revenues are projected to be flat.
