Franchot to Visit Allegany County

It's becoming a regular occurence- a visit to Allegany County by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot. Making at least his fourth visit to the area this year earlier this week, Franchot said that state officials need to take a time-out for a few years on changing the tax code, raising taxes and changing regulations, all of which combine to hurt Maryland’s business climate.  Despite claims by Governor Martin O’Malley to the contrary, the comptroller says Maryland does not have a good reputation when it comes to being business friendly.  The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce hosted Franchot for a meeting- and he also visited a number of businesses downtown and also met with local elected officials.  Although having served in elected office since 1987- Franchot says he never get used to how partisan politics and election years have a way of shifting everyones priorities…
