Frankfort Leaving AMAC

February 7th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Frankfort High School has decided to leave the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference.  The decision came at a conference meeting Wednesday morning at Mountain Ridge High School.  The nine member schools were represented at the meeting by all athletic directors and most of the principals of the schools.  Frankfort’s withdrawal from the conference becomes effective next winter so the school will still compete against AMAC schools this spring and next fall.  Frankfort officials cited a desire to play more West Virginia schools to help the school better prepare for state playoffs.
