Black bear sighting are common in Western Maryland- but attacks are extremely rare. So it was a surprise to Department of Natural Resources Police to get a report of a bear attacking a woman in Frederick County Wednesday night. Natural resources police identified the woman as Karen Osborne. She is 63-years-old and suffered a broken arm, cuts to her head and puncture wounds to both arms. Natural Resources Police say it happened in the driveway of a home along Shookstown Road which is just west of Frederick City. The house is surrounded by a lot of trees and woods. Candy Thompson, Natural Resources Police Spokeswoman, said this was an unusual situation….
