Frederick Street Disturbance Results In CDS Arrest

Saturday evening, Cumberland City Police officers were also dispatched to the 500 block of Frederick Street after several residents’ contacted dispatch advising of a large disturbance.  While officers were en route to the scene, dispatch continued to receive additional complaints stating that the disturbance seemed to be escalating. 

Officers arrived in the area and located the residence where the disturbance was occurring.  Officers observed a suspect throwing items off of the front porch and could hear glass breaking.  Officers approached the residence and were greeted by suspect Christopher Thomas Walker, 24, of Cumberland.  Walker continued to cause a disturbance and refused to comply with officers repeated requests to stop causing a disturbance during the investigation.  Officers attempted to place Walker under arrest which he initially resisted.  Officers were able to gain control of Walker who continued to cause a disturbance until removed from the scene. 

Walker was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was charged with the following:

Disorderly Conduct -1 count

Disturbing the Peace – 1 count

Failure to Obey a Lawful Order of a Police Officer – 1 count

Resisting Arrest – 1 count

Possession of Marijuana Less than 10 grams – 1 count

Walker was processed and subsequently transported to the Allegany County District Court for a preliminary hearing.  Walker was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $3000.00 bond.
