Friends Aware Raising Funds for Building Upgrades

August 14th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

With an estimated price tag of around $2 million, Friends Aware is continuing its capital campaign for a major building project.  About $400,000 would be needed to make the building ADA-compliant. Of the rest of the funds, about 60 percent would go to new construction and 40 percent to renovation. The current building lacks a sprinkler system. A complete renovation and addition to the organization’s Life Enrichment Center on Holland Street is planned.   Executive Director Robert Godfrey says the building was constructed in the 1960’s and the wear and tear is making it challenging to deliver the excellent services that have always been provided.
