On July 20, 2011 the Cumberland Police Department served an Allegany County Circuit Court Bench Warrant on Dewayne Anthony Jones, 27, of Frostburg. The arrest warrant was issued for Failure to Appear after Jones fled from the Allegany County Circuit Court building during a jury trial. Jones was to stand trial on charges of possession of contraband in a place of confinement, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Jones was taken to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance on the Failure to Appear charge and was held without bond in the Allegany County Detention Center.
