Frostburg man sentenced on child pornography charges

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced that Jon Dale Lohr, 81 of Frostburg, pled guilty to one count of Possession of Child Pornography. The plea hearing was conducted by the Honorable Judge W. Timothy Finan in the Circuit Court for Allegany County, Maryland on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.  Lohr was sentenced to five years suspending all but six months actual incarceration in the Allegany County Detention Center.  Upon release, the defendant will be placed on supervised probation for a period of five years with conditions that he register as a sex offender for fifteen years, submit to evaluation and sex offender treatment, forfeit devices seized during the investigation, continue in the internet monitoring program, and have no unsupervised contact with minor children.

This case was investigated by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.  Prosecuting the case for the State was Assistant State’s Attorney Karen Detrick.  Lohr was represented by G.V. Mckinley, Esquire.
