The Frostburg State University student who died Tuesday after falling down an interior stairway on campus suffered from a blood clot that moved to her lungs, university officials were told Wednesday.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore ruled that 23-year-old She-Ra White died of natural causes, C3I officials told FSU, according to FSU spokeswoman Liz Medcalf. The condition caused lightheadedness and shortness of breath, resulting in her fall.

White was a graduate student from Wichita Falls, Texas, who had been at FSU since the fall of 2012.

She died at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after being taken there by ambulance.
