The Cumberland Times News reports that no arrests have been made in the Frostburg Police investigation of a large disturbance early Sunday on Wood Street that involved several hundred people. However, 10 students were sanctioned Friday by Frostburg State University for their involvement in the incident. The newspaper account adds that officials also said steps have been taken by Frostburg Police and Frostburg State University to ensure there will be no such similar incidents in the Mountain City.

The disturbance just before 2 a.m. involved an estimated 500 to 700 people, according to a news release issued by police on Sunday.

The incident prompted response of University Police, Maryland State Police, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Cumberland Police to assist Frostburg Police Department.
