On 6/10/14 @ approximately 10:00 p.m., Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Cool Breeze Dr. in Rawlings at the request of the Baker County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. According to Florida authorities, Phillip Arnold Bennet III (26 years old, Jacksonville, FL) was possibly at the residence in Rawlings and was currently wanted in FL for the following offenses: Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon (2 counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill and Trespassing While Armed. Deputies searched the residence and located BENNETT hiding under a bed. He was arrested without incident and transported to District Court where a Fugitive from Justice warrant was applied for and served on BENNETT. Following an initial appearance in front of a District Court Commissioner, BENNETT was ordered held without bond and was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.
