Funding Main Concern for Board of Education

Having seen state funding decline by $8 million in recent years- and projections for another hit in the coming year, members of the Allegany County Board of Education enter 2012 with grave concerns about the ability to adequately fund the system. A slew of cuts were implemented this year to balance the budget, including the controversial decision to phase out the Washington county option for Little Orleans students. Its too early to project what might be targeted next year,  but its something that is already on the mind of Board President Mike Llewellyn…
