Funeral Today For Deputy Logsdon

February 20th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Funeral Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Harford Community College for Sheriff's Deputy First Class  Mark Logsdon, who was one of two deputies shot and killed last week in Abingdon.

Governor Larry Hogan, Harford County Executive Barry Glassman, and Sheriff Jeff Gahler will be among the speakers.

After the funeral, Logsdon will be buried at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, and there will be a long procession that will impact traffic on Interstate 95, the Outer Loop of the Baltimore Beltway, I-83 and Padonia Road.

The traffic impact is expected in the late morning or early afternoon.  Sheriff's Department officials expect the roads to be cleared by 2 p.m.

WBAL's Scott Wykoff will have coverage of the funeral on Saturday, and you can watch it on WBAL.COM.

Logsdon, 43,  was fatally shot by 68-year-old Brian Evans, who first opened fire on another deputy, Patrick Dailey, a 30-year Sheriff's Office veteran, inside a Panera Bread restaurant in Abingdon on Wednesday of last week.

Logsdon came into contact with Evans minutes later in a parking lot nearby and was fatally shot. Responding deputies killed the gunman.

Logsdon, 43, was assigned to the Community Services Division. He is survived by his wife, three children and his parents.
