Future Portion of Rocky Gap Slots Revenue will Benefit Food Bank

A few changes approved by the Allegany County commissioners will see an allocation of $15,000 of future Rocky Gap Casino slots proceeds to the Western Maryland Food Bank. The Allegany County Local Development Council, which was formed to recommend allocation of slots revenue as required under state law, drafted a plan for the fiscal 2017 allocations for commissioners' approval earlier this year. According to county finance director Jason Bennett the $15,000 food bank allocation will be awarded only after slots revenues exceed $1,014,000 annually. He says revenue from Rocky Gap's slots is expected to exceed the million dollar mark…
