Gansler Calls Article on Misuse a Lie

Maryland's Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial candidate is calling a Washington Post story about his misuse of state troopers a lie.  Doug Gansler said this week the reporter that wrote the article knew it was untrue. The report said that Gansler ordered the troopers working on his security detail to drive him to rountine appointments with lights and sirens blarring. A campaign spokesman for Gansler said the matter was settled and is being revived as a political attack. Gansler said Tuesday that the story was based on one of O'Malley/Brown's “henchman” referring to State Police Lt. Charles Ardolini.  Ardolini is the Commander of the Executive Protection Section for the Maryland State Police. State Police say the comments from Gansler about the Commander are baseless and inappropriate.  And the Department continues to stand by the statements made by seven troopers who made written reports in addition to other oral reports from the Executive Protection Section regarding concerns about the attorney general…
