Garrett Board of Education ‘Beefing Up’ Security

Last week the Garrett County Board of Education agreed to allocate $260,000 for door security and school bus camera systems in an effort to beef up safety steps for students and school personnel. Every public school building will have door entry access control systems and video intercom systems, bus camera surveillance and archive GPS systems. Allegany County Commissioner Mike McKay, appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Thursday was asked whether the county would support, financially,  similar security upgrades for the local school system.
