Gas prices continue to drop in Maryland and around the country this week, prompted by the falling price of crude oil- and they have fallen below the $3.00 mark in Cumberland. Maryland prices dipped four cents in the past few days, bringing the average gas price in Maryland to $2.99 according to AAA. By Thursday the average price had dropped another cent to $2.98 a gallon. Locally gas is as low as $2.98 for a gallon of regular unleaded at the Fast Fuel Station on west Industrial Blvd near White Oaks; and stands at $2.99 a gallon at the Circle K on McMullen Highway in Bel Air. According to AAA, this is the first time since 2010 that the state's average gas price has dipped below $3.00.
