Gas prices In Cumberland Plunging

August 15th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Prices at the pump across most of the country, including the Mid-Atlantic region, continue to dip, although the national average has risen over the last few days. Cumberland’s prices at the pump continue to dip dramatically, down another 5 cents from last week standing at $2.50 heading into the weekend. That is down 23 cents from just a month ago. Today’s national average price is $2.65, which reflects an increase of three cents from last week, a drop of 13 cents compared to one month ago, and is 82 cents per gallon lower than this date last year. The price uptick over the last few days is due to Midwest refinery issues, which have impacted gas prices in that region, and consequently driven up the nationwide average cost. Maryland’s average price is 10 cents lower than the national average at $2.55 per gallon.  The state average is a nickel lower than last week, 20 cents less versus one month ago, and is 90 cents per gallon lower than last year on this date.
