Gas prices in decline

September 19th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline fell for 31 consecutive days, ending the slide on Friday, staying unchanged from yesterday’s price yet down six cents per gallon compared to last week. Pump prices typically decline during this time of year due to lower driving demand after the busy summer driving season and the changeover to the less costly winter-blend gasoline, which began on September 16. Today’s nationwide average price is $2.30 per gallon. Drivers are saving six cents per gallon compared to one week ago, 36 cents versus one month ago, and an average of $1.06 per gallon compared to a year ago. Maryland’s average price is two cents lower than the national average at $2.28 per gallon.  The statewide average is five cents less than one week ago, 26 cents less than last month, and $1.06 per gallon cheaper than last year on this date. In Cumberland the price is down three cents from a week ago, now at $2.38 a gallon
