October 17th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

While neighboring states Virginia and Delaware are now enjoying a state average below $3.00 per gallon, Maryland’s average price at the pump, although trending downward, still remains above $3.00 per gallon at $3.12 for Friday; however, many retail stations on the Eastern Shore and in the Baltimore Metro area are selling gasoline below $3.00 per gallon. Today’s State average is at a new low for 2014 and has dropped 11 cents from a week ago, 22 cents from last month, and declined 21 cents from last year’s price on this date. Prices in Cumberland have dropped 13 cents from a week ago, down to $3.20 a gallon- but still the highest in the state.
