October 22nd, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Gas prices across much of the Mid-Atlantic region, including Maryland, remain relatively steady with most states seeing slight weekly increases or decreases of two cents or less. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.23 per gallon. Today's price represents a decrease of two cents per gallon compared to one week ago, but remains two cents more than last month. Drivers across the country are roughly paying the same price at the pump compared to last year, saving only a penny versus this date a year ago.

Maryland’s average cost has remained steady in the $2.24 to $2.26 per gallon range since late September.  Today’s cost of $2.25 per gallon is one cent less compared to last week’s price and is now lower than last month’s price although only by a penny.  The state average continues to trend higher than last year’s price with today’s average five cents per gallon more than the 2015 price on this date.
