Gas prices slowly dropping

Average gas prices nationwide and in Maryland are slowly retreating. The national average has declined for 11 consecutive days, while Maryland’s average price at the pump has fallen for 10 days. Today’s national average price of $2.33 per gallon has dipped two cents since last week, but is eight cents higher than one month ago and 46 cents more per gallon year-over-year. Maryland’s average cost of $2.35 per gallon is two cents higher than the national average, and is three cents less than last week while six cents higher than last month’s price and 46 cents more than the cost last year on this date when the state average was $1.89 per gallon. In Cumberland prices heading into the weekend stood at $2.45, down a penny from last week.
