Lower fuel prices are coming to town, as prices continue to drop across the country to the lowest levels in four years. U.S. average gas prices have dropped 71 days in a row for a total of 64 cents per gallon. This is the longest streak of consecutive price declines since autumn 2008. Holiday drivers nationwide are saving around $200 million dollars per day on gasoline.
The national average price of regular grade gasoline dropped eight cents in the past week to $2.71 Friday, which is down 25 cents in the past month and 54 cents below year ago prices.
Maryland’s average price is $2.76 per gallon, which reflects a six cents drop from a week ago, 17 cents decline from last month and a decrease of 64 cents per gallon compared to the price on this date last year. In Cumberland the average stands at $2.86 a gallon
