Allegany County Government announced that November 12 will be the kickoff of the “Get to Work” Program. The program provides Allegany County residents with access to public transportation for the expressed purpose of getting to work at the North Branch Industrial Park for the second and third shifts. All shifts that start and/or end between 12 Noon and 2 AM will be considered for the program.
Employees of HunterDouglas, Schroder Industries, Webstaurant Store, and Berry Global will be picked up by Allegany County Transit at their residence, will be dropped off at various sites throughout the industrial park, and will be returned to their home. A one-way fee of $4 is required for all riders. Additionally, a $60 punch card can be purchased for a reduced price by contacting the Allegany County Transit offices.

The program is a partnership with a number of community-based agencies including the Allegany County Department of Social Services, the Western Maryland Consortium, the Allegany County America Job Center, Goodwill Horizon Industries, Act Personnel Services, and others. The program is made possible through the County’s receipt of a Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) grant from the Maryland Department of Transportation.
