.For the second time in six weeks, fire of an apparent suspicious origin happened at a six-unit apartment building at 15321 Lower Georges Creek Road. No injuries were reported, according to the Allegany County 911 emergency center. The Cumberland Times News reports a 911 call from a neighbor who observed fire traveling up an outside wall of the three-story building alerted the 911 center to the incident. First-arriving Midland volunteer firefighters reportedly found fire at the back side of the building in the same area of the apartment where a fire occurred on Sept. 3, 2015. The first fire occurred during the early morning hours and was ruled arson by state fire investigators. Both incidents remain under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. Thursday's fire occurred at about 1 a.m., and first units at the scene arrived at 1:04 a.m., according to the emergency center. Damage was described as moderate. Apparently no tenants were displaced by the incident. Volunteer fire departments on the scene for 2 1/2 hours included Midland, Lonaconing, Shaft, Frostburg, Barton, Mount Savage and Tri-Towns. Eastern Garrett volunteer stood by for Midland and Piedmont volunteers stood by for Lonaconing fire department. Frostburg and Tri-Towns ambulance also responded to the scene. The incident at the property owned by Droll D&D Rentals also drew the response of the Maryland State Police and the Allegany County Sheriff's Office.
