Gov. Discusses Heroin Epidemic

Just moments before Maryland Governor Larry Hogan addressed a large group of local law enforcement representatives in Allegany County- the Cumberland City Police was busy dealing with yet another heroin overdose. The governor, speaking at the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, discussed the heroin crisis statewide and the efforts that have been implemented to address the growing problem. City Police Captain Greg Leake said there have been over 200 overdoses in the area since January, with more than 30 of those fatal….
