Keeping children safe at school has been a major priority in the recently ended 2018 session of the Maryland General Assembly last week. A bill enhancing school security was the first one signed by Governor Larry Hogan. The bill includes a requirement for schools to either have a resource officer or plans for adequate law enforcement coverage. Governor Hogan says even prior to the deadly school shooting at Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County- he was pushing for additional funding for school security- and he says the measures approved are landmark school safety legislation…
