Gov. Hogan Does Not Oppose State Constitutional Amendment Securing Right For Marylanders’ To Seek Abortions

Governor Larry Hogan says he has no problem with a state constitutional amendment securing Marylanders' right to seek abortion procedures.  House Speaker Michael Busch proposed the amendment this week amid worries that Judge Brett Kavanaugh, if confirmed to the Supreme Court, could turn the court to the right on issues including abortion rights, and could potentially be the deciding vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. Any amendment would require a three-fifths vote in both houses of the General Assembly, then ratification by voters. The governor says he is perfectly fine with letting the people decide…
