Gov. Hogan Downplays Interest In Mounting Primary Challenge To President Trump

WBAL reports that amid national buzz, Governor Larry Hogan downplayed any interest in mounting a primary election challenge to President Donald Trump, but didn't rule it out….

 

Hogan won a convincing victory in November, becoming the first Republican governor in decades to win re-election in heavily Democratic Maryland. Hogan, who did not endorse anybody in the 2016 general election, has been a frequent critic of Trump. Chris Christie, the former two-term New Jersey Governor and member of the President Trump transition team, addressed the Hogan speculation during an appearance on WBAL…

 

Christie added however that Trump is still very popular among Republicans and it would be difficult to defeat him in a primary challenge.
