Gov. Says Allegany Co. Schools Well Suited To Receive Waiter For Pre-Labor Day Start

When appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Friday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said that the Allegany County School system is well suited to receive a waiver that would allow the school calendar to start before Labor Day. The governor recently issued a second executive order on the subject of mandating post Labor Day starts to the school year- with some clarification on the waiver process and how to qualify. Hogan said given the large number of snow days that impact western Maryland, Allegany County should have no problem getting the waiver.
