February 3rd, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Governor Larry Hogan today announced the appointment of Bilal Ali to the Maryland General Assembly. The governor appointed Ali to the House of Delegates following the recommendation of the Baltimore City Democratic Central Committee. Ali will replace former Delegate Jill Carter, who resigned to take a position in Baltimore City Mayor Catherine Pugh’s administration.

“I am confident that Bilal Ali is prepared to be a strong advocate for his constituents in Baltimore City in his new role as a state delegate,” said Governor Hogan. “I offer him my sincere congratulations and look forward to having the opportunity to work with him this session to change Maryland for the better.”

Ali will represent District 41, serving Baltimore City. Ali currently serves as a community liaison coordinator for the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office.

Delegate Ali was sworn into the House of Delegates this morning.
