Gov. Martin O'Malley said he is considering asking the General Assembly to pass a legislative package aimed at stimulating hiring during the October special session. The governor's statement was the first public indication that the Oct. 17 special session would take up any issues beyond congressional redistricting. O'Malley declined to provide specifics about potential jobs legislation, saying the ideas are still being developed. In the past he pushed tax credits for companies hiring off the unemployment rolls.
