Grand Jury Convenes For Cumberland City Employee Investigation

Three Cumberland city employees who are under investigation by the C3I Unit concerning theft allegations could learn today whether a grand jury will indict. The city has had little to say on the matter, only confirming that an investigation had been conducted of three employees of the city’s public works department, concerning allegations of theft from the department’s garage. Those being investigated include longtime assistant of Public Works John Chapman. The city and the public works department administration has been  cooperating fully in the investigation and has taken administrative action regarding three employees in accordance with the city’s policies and procedures, pending the outcome of the investigation. The grand jury convenes this (Wendesday) morning.
