Greene Street Breaking & Entering

On July 09, 2015 at approximately 5:41 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 600 block of Greene Street in reference to a breaking and entering.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the resident who stated that he awoke to a male subject standing in his living room holding the homeowners television.  The homeowner confront the suspect and told him to get going and the suspect ran from the scene.  The victim described the suspect as a W/M, thin build, approximately 6'1, possibly scruffy facial hair, wearing blue jeans and a light colored T-shirt.

The victim stated that the suspect entered the residence through an unlocked front door.  The suspect stole a small amount of currency while inside the residence.  The victim stated that the suspect fled south on Greene Street.

The Cumberland Police Department immediately attempted a K-9 search of the area for the suspect.  The remainder of the neighborhood was canvased by patrolling officers looking for the suspect.

Maryland State Police Crime Lab Technician responded to process the residence for any evidence.  C3I Investigators responded to the scene to further assist in the investigation.
