Although the Cumberland Mayor and City Council thus far has opted not to make public the names of the individuals who applied to fill the vacant seat on the Council- the names are continuing to slowly leak out. The deadline to submit a letter of interest was December 7- however at the advice of legal council there will be no public release of the names- and the plan now is for interviews to be conducted after the new council takes office in January. A selection will be announced sometime shortly afterward. Although outgoing Mayor Brian Grim says he would prefer that the public know exactly who is being considered for the office- he understands the advice offered by city solicitor Michael Cohen…
Although no official release has taken place, through direct contact with the individuals or through independent sources- WCBC News has learned the identity of 13 of the 16 applicants. Those include: Andrea Beall; Rhiannon Brown; Stu Czapski; Erin Delong; John Fetchero; Jeff Hedrick; Larry Jackson; Laurie Marchini; Yvonne Perret; Kelly Robertson; John Sangiovani; David Smith and Buck Taylor.
