Two of Maryland's leading Democratic candidates for governor are focusing on supporting measures to reduce domestic violence in the state. Lt. Governor Anthony Brown testified on Friday for a package of legislation. Attorney General Doug Gansler wants to give judges discretion to add five years on to a sentence for someone who commits domestic violence in front of a child. The bill that Gansler supports applies to children two years of age and older. Brown is backing a similar measure that would apply to children of any age.
