Halloween Is One Of The Deadliest Nights For Pedestrians

Every Halloween, monsters, zombies and ghouls fill the streets across the United States to celebrate – and if that’s not scary enough, October 31 is one of the deadliest nights of the year for pedestrians. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that Halloween is consistently one of the top three days for pedestrian injuries and fatalities, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that children are four times more likely to be struck by a motor vehicle on Halloween than any other day of the year. Locally, trick or treating events are held on different nights in towns and neighborhoods- so parents and drivers need to be cautious throughout the week.
