One of the pillars of Hampshire County has passed away. Walter Layman was retired as president and chairman of the First National Band of Romney and was involved with several civic pursuits, including bringing the Potomac Eagle Excursion Train to the county, the Hampshire County Development Authority, the Chamber of Commerce and County United Way.
