Hancock woman seriously injured in accident

A two vehicle accident just after 3:30 Monday morning on  E/B I70 at the 4mm just east of Hancock saw one person seriously injured, and the roadway was shut down due to debris and safety concerns for the victims, emergency personnel. Maryland State Police report that a  2005 Kia for unknown reasons struck the rear end of a tractor trailer combination causing the accident.  The driver of the semi was not injured.  The driver of the KIA, was 22 year old Elizabeth Hinckle of Hancock, MD.  Miss Hinckle was flown by Trooper 5 to Shock trauma in Baltimore with serious injuries. 

    The MD State Highway Administration was on scene and controlled the detour and handled the roadway closure.
