On 04/16/12, a member of the Allegany County Sheriffs office was traveling north on route 36 Main Street Lonaconing, Maryland in the area of Jeff’s tire, when he observed a vehicle that was traveling in front of him cross the center line and strike a south bound vehicle head on. The accident was determined to be the fault of Vehicle #1 a 2007 Toyota Rav 4 operated by Tarah Leigh Fazenbaker Age 27 Lower Georges Creek Road Barton, Md. Vehicle #2 was operated by Thomas Jeff Reed 51 yrs old Sprucewood Dr Frostburg, Maryland. Both operators were transported to WMRH with non-life threatening injuries. The road remained closed for about 45 minutes. The Allegany Sheriffs Office was assisted by Lonaconing Fire Department, Georges Creek Ambulance and Tri Towns ambulance. Charges are pending on Tarah Fazenbaker as a result of the motor vehicle accident.
