Health Insurance Rates Predicted To Increase

In Maryland, the Governor's office is downplaying predictions of dramatically higher costs for health care coverage under the Affordable Health Care Act. That legislation is also known as "Obamacare." Carolyn Quattrocki, Executive Director of the Governor's Office of Health Care Reform, expects that there will be adjustments to the increases publicized this week. Among the companies applying for increases, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Maryland's largest carrier, is looking at an average of 25 percent increase in costs…
